Our Clients

Families seek our advisory services when they are:

  • Exploring their “shared dream” for the future, and developing a continuity plan.
  • Creating or strengthening governance structures such as boards of directors, family councils, shareholders’ assemblies, or trusts, and policies to guide their work.
  • Developing a succession plan to transfer the leadership of their enterprise to the next generation.
  • Trying to improve their communication, leadership, teamwork, and conflict management skills.
  • Considering multiple options for wealth management and philanthropy, including the development of a family foundation in accord with their shared philanthropic mission and values.

LGA works with families and the professionals who serve them, in a variety of organizational settings. Over the past decade we have advised families in over 30 countries on 6 continents. Many of our client families include a large number of extended-family shareholders and govern operating companies with revenues of US$500 million or more; some are closely held and others are publicly traded. We also have an “Emerging Enterprises” client group whose revenues range from $50 to $500 million, most often governed by founders and sibling partnerships. In addition to our governance work with family owners of operating businesses, we also work with family offices and foundations. We also serve private banks, financial advisors, consulting firms, and organizations that support, philanthropy, helping them respond more effectively to the governance and continuity concerns of their members or clients.  These institutional relationships include staff development and education, and direct services to their client families.

We take confidentiality very seriously, and therefore we do not publicize the names of our individual clients. For more information and case examples of typical engagements, please access the pages from the list at the left.
